TRAINEE BAKER/BAKER
Working Days: Monday to Friday with occasional Sundays
Start Date: 17th August 2026
Hours: 2pm till 10pm plus up to 1 Sunday per month with a Monday off in lieu
Wage: Dependant on age and experience
Location: Peter Cooks Bakery, Bromyard, HR7 4QT
We are looking for a Trainee Baker or qualified Baker to join our team in maintaining high standards of hygiene and contributing to the production of our pastries, breads and buns. This is a hands-on role within a busy bakery environment, working closely with the Real Bread department. Duties include preparation, mixing, shaping/cutting, baking of our award winning breads.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Preparing, mixing, shaping, finishing and baking artisan breads, and buns
Supporting daily bakery production
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
Working collaboratively as part of a skilled and supportive team
Contributing to a positive and professional bakery environment

Cook and Shop Sales Assistant
Working days: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Saturday
Start Date: 24th August 2026
Hours: 7am till 4pm
Wage: Dependant on age and experience
Location: Peter Cooks Bakery, Bromyard, HR7 4QT
We are looking for a Cook and Sales Assistant to join our team, you must be motivated, versatile and passionate about good quality food. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be working both in the kitchen and front of house. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, enjoy engaging with customers, and take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service. Similar experience gained in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting would be highly advantageous.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Prepare and cook a variety of foods including cakes, pastries, pizzas, breads, and other baked goods.
Make and serve high-quality coffees and hot drinks to a consistent standard.
Follow food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
Keep the kitchen and work areas clean, tidy, and organised.
Assist with sales, including serving customers, handling payments, and ensuring excellent customer service.
Learn about the breads, pastries, and other products to confidently explain and recommend items to customers.
Work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively during busy periods.
Be compliant with Health and Safety, COSHH and Food Safety regulations.
