🚚 Job Title: Cover Driver
About Us
At Peter Cook’s Bread, we believe in baking real bread with passion, skill, and integrity — and delivering it fresh to our customers every day. We supply some of the best restaurants, cafés, and independent retailers across the region, and we take pride in ensuring every loaf arrives on time and in perfect condition.
We’re now looking for a Cover Delivery Driver to join our friendly, hard-working team. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our deliveries running smoothly by providing cover for regular drivers during holidays, busy periods, or sickness.
You’ll be the face of our company on the road — delivering goods safely, maintaining excellent customer service, and representing our brand with professionalism.
About the Role
As a Cover Driver, you’ll be responsible for loading, delivering, and unloading our award-winning bread and pastries to customers across our network. The work is physical, rewarding, and perfect for someone who enjoys being on the move and interacting with people.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver bread and baked goods to wholesale and retail customers across the region
Provide driver cover for planned and short-notice absences
Load and unload products carefully to ensure quality and presentation
Maintain accurate delivery records and customer communications
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues
Represent Peter Cook’s Bread with professionalism and warmth
What We’re Looking For
Full, clean UK driving licence
Previous multi-drop delivery or professional driving experience preferred
Friendly, reliable, and customer-focused
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
·Physically fit and comfortable with early starts (typically from 3–5am)
·Good local knowledge of Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and surrounding areas
·Flexible approach to working days and routes
